Fremantle PCYC is a charitable, non-profit community organisation with the objective of finding a happy medium between low cost, affordable recreational, sporting and social activities and crime prevention programs targeting young offenders and “Youth at Risk.”
Western Australia Police meet the salaries of the Fremantle PCYC Manager and Assistant Manager however all other operating costs (repairs and maintenance, cleaning, electricity, Federation of PCYC affiliation and audit fees, advertising, gas, public liability insurance, license, medals and awards, security, computer software, stationery, telephone, water rates, motor vehicle, bus running costs, additional staff wages and superannuation, staff development / training) have to be met by the Centre.
The resource of two full-time Police Officers and as of March this year an Aboriginal Police Liaison Officer has enabled us to generate various new crime prevention activities and programs, helping to forge strong positive community policing at the grassroots level. These Police Officers have successfully broken down perceived barriers and have enabled and encouraged young people to participate in the programs that are non-judgmental and non-threatening.

Fremantle is a diversely functional Centre committed to the evolvement of youth. Fremantle PCYC is a place for:
- All young people;
- Those who are underprivileged;
- Those with intellectual or physical disabilities;
- Those who are gifted or seeking to achieve;
- Those who are unemployed;
- Those who are dispirited or full of life; and
- Those who just want to be able to feel comfortable in walking in off the street any time day or night and be involved.
Fremantle PCYC runs a vast array of sporting and recreational programs, joint initiatives and projects with schools and local community service groups in the area. Our aim is to offer youth an opportunity to develop self-reliance, independence and confidence in order to grow as courteous and considerate citizens.
Recreational activities and programs offered by Fremantle PCYC cater for ages from 6 months to Senior Citizens. To take part in these activities you need to be a member, which is only $15 per year for children, $20 per year for adults, $10 per year for people with disabilities. This fee helps to cover administration costs and general running expenses. Fremantle PCYC’s policy is to provide equity and access; ensuring activities are affordable to all. Activity prices range from $4.00 to $7.50 per class.
This Centre now offers those in disadvantaged positions, such as youth, long term unemployed, people of different race and those who are low income earners a better quality of life, and hope to encourage a confident outlook to the future and benefit the community as a whole.
