Priority Two programs are early intervention crime prevention programs for youth at risk who have not committed an offence which resulted in them being dealt with in a Juvenile Justice Team or Court, but may have received a Formal Juvenile Caution
Youth at Risk as used by PCYC are generally young people who fit into one or more of the following categories:
- From Aboriginal/ Torres Strait Islander backgrounds;
- From other ethnic backgrounds;
- Living in lower socio-economic areas;
- Identified by schools for violent or disruptive behaviour i.e.: students who have been suspended;
- Unemployed;
- Victims of domestic violence; or
- Victims of crime.
These programs vary according to local need, but include the Rockingham Welding Program
