Priority 4

Priority Four programs are educational life skills training programs targeting youth not at risk of offending. Our priority four programs include:

Rockingham Healthy Choices
Year 7 students are targeted as it is their final year of primary education prior to high school. This transition from “big fish in a small pond, to small fish in big pond” can create strong peer pressure and a desire to be accepted. Without having the correct information and tools available to them to address these issues, many young people will try to appear to be “cool” and experiment with drug and alcohol use.

The aim of the program is to provide the children with the information and tools to make healthy choices about drugs and alcohol. This is achieved by having a fun and educational day filled with role playing scenarios, informative lectures and open/honest discussions.
