Claremont PCYC

About Us

The Claremont Centre was formed in 1946 and was known as Claremont Police and Citizens Boys Club. By 1950 Claremont owned the premises, which was formerly an army hut in Davies Road, Claremont. On the 20th August 1965, the Centre moved to the old Swanbourne Picture theatre. Activities at this time included slot car racing and girls' deportment.

By 1967 young people living in and around the Western Suburbs participated in boxing, slot car racing, gymnastics, trampolining , billiards, weight lifting, ju-jitsu, table tennis, record club, car maintenance, girls' makeup, basketball, volleyball and football.

In 1989 the Centre moved to its current location in Davies Road, Claremont. Claremont PCYC offers something for everybody, whether it is indoor sport, personal fitness, martial arts, kinder gym, group activities, youth development or any of our activities on offer with a focus on young people and crime prevention.

Claremont continues to serve the community by offering different activities at an affordable price. If you have never been into our Centre please come in and see for yourself.
