livALIVETM

PCYC, recognising the need to ‘go mobile’ in order to offer services to those individuals and communities that may not have access to a current PCYC facility, has developed livALIVE™.  livALIVE™ is an innovative and dynamic mobile outreach service,  operating in partnership with local government, schools, social agencies and community groups to provide activities, programs and youth spaces to meet the wants and needs of young people at a local level.

While the flexible nature of livALIVE™ means different activities are offered to different regions and audiences, there are certain foundation elements that remain fixed, these are: road safety, drug and alcohol awareness, social engagement and behaviour management, leadership training, education and entertainment.  livALIVE™ uses a mobile van filled with equipment to support the above activities, as well as resources on offer in the regions in which it operates.

livALIVE™is currently being piloted in the City of Belmont and the City of Swan.  Thanks to funding from Variety WA, the McCusker Foundation and Telethon, the first two trucks are due for completion by the end of February and will be equipped with a driving simulator, portable skate ramp and music and lighting equipment amongst other things.
