Today a new division of PCYC - called livALIVE™ - was  launched at the Belmont Skate Park by the the Hon. Robyn McSweeney, Minister for Community Services & Youth and PCYC Board Member, Andrew Vlahov.

The launch presented PCYC with an opportunity to unveil livALIVE™ to the media, to highlight this unique initiative created to tackle disengagement, truancy, drug and alcohol abuse and anti-social behaviour among WA's marginalised youth.

The AVELING PCYC Charity Golf Tournament was held on Friday 16 December at Royal Fremantle Golf Course, raising over $14,000 for PCYC.

aveling-logo.jpgThe competition was dominated by Lou Digregorio & Warren Colgan (from Best Tractor Parts) who took home both the Best Net and Best gross score for the day - winning a $500 Retravision gift card each!   The weather was kind, a beautiful 29 degree day with a light see breeze, which made the beers go down nicely.  PCYC would like to thank the Naming Rights Sponsor, AVELING, Gold Level Sponsors, Retravision (Electsales) and ACI Broking, Silver Level Sponsor, SM Engineering and Course Sponsor, Royal Fremantle, for their fantastic support as well as all the participants who made the day such a success.

WIN ONE OF FIVE DOUBLE PASSES TO SCITECH’S LATEST EXHIBITION ‘RESCUE’rescue_image.jpg
Rappelling down a sheer cliff face, communicating under thunderous chopper blades, squinting through the glare of flashing warning lights... do you have what it takes to be a hero? Scitech’s exciting new exhibition ‘Rescue’ puts you in charge as you discover what it’s like to be involved in land, sea and air rescues.
Take control of a full-size helicopter simulator to get a bird’s eye view of a rescue scene and use infrared cameras to look for heat signals. Navigate a jet ski around obstacles as you search for a swimmer washed out to sea or experience what it’s like to find your way through a smoke-filled room, and use fire extinguishers to put out fires. Interactive exhibits will teach you about medicine, search techniques, radio communication, rescue supplies and equipment such as the Jaws of Life. ‘Rescue’ is suitable for all ages and opens at Scitech, City West on 5 November and runs until 13 May 2012.

Tell us who your favourite hero is, (real or fictional), and why, by emailing info@wapcyc.com.au to go into the draw to win a double pass to this adventurous new exhibition. Entries to be received by 20 Jan 2012.
