Collie PCYC was presented as a Finalist in the prestigious Community TAB Community Service Award, at the Western Australian Regional Achievement and Community Awards Presentation ceremony held at the Hyatt Regency Perth on Friday 20th October.
Centre Manager Linda Gallagher said that Collie PCYC was one of over 320 nominations received from across regional West Australia and to make it all the way through the selection process.
Collie PCYC finished as a top 3 finalist on the night which is a real testament to the huge transformation Collie PCYC has undergone in the last 18 months and is a positive reflection on the amazing staff and volunteers behind the centre.
“Our centre now engages the town’s young people in a positive environment with fun activities to build self-esteem, social consciousness and engagement. It is the place to be in Collie on a Friday night. It is also a chance for us to thank the outside agencies and grant funders that have stepped forward and helped us along the way, as we continue to build, develop and strive for better outcomes for the youth of Collie.”
