Work Experience for Kensington PCYC Students

Students from Kensington PCYC undertook work experience for a week at WesTrac in Guildford this month.

The youth were all very excited about this opportunity along with Kensington PCYC Staff. Amanda Dow, Centre Manager at Kensington PCYC said, “We are so excited to be able to support them into this new pathway that may hopefully lead to apprenticeship opportunities for their future”.

The students started in July 2017and have successfully completed a Certificate 1 in Leadership. They have participated in a wide range of activities over this time including a visit to the Joondalup TAFE Hospitality Restaurant, raft building at Camp Mornington and Orienteering at Whiteman Park.

Their community project for this semester also involved preparing 15 food hampers with a festive Christmas theme for local families in the area with the assistance of local Youth Crime Intervention Officers.
