Minister for Police, Hon. Michelle Roberts, MLA presented the WA Police and Community Youth Centres (PCYC) with a Lotterywest grant of $122,000 at Northam PCYC on 30 May 2018.
The grant will provide a range of equipment allowing for the delivery of recreational activities and diversionary programs for youth and youth at risk at 17 metropolitan and regional locations across the state.
“This grant will allow us to continue to deliver activities such as Boxing, Gymnastics and Darts, and upgrade equipment in our fitness centres across the state.” CEO John Gillespie stated.
“The grant will also allow us to upgrade our facilities to deliver the Safe Space program, which provides youth and youth at risk a safe place to ‘hang out’ after school and on the weekends”
“Providing this space is vital to keeping our youth safe, and off the streets, contributing to mutual WA Police outcomes” he concluded.
We would like to thank Lotterywest and the contribution of Lotterywest players and retailers, in making the support for WA PCYC possible.
