TYPO has generously donated piles of products for safeSPACE children and young people to enjoy and be creative with. PCYC Executive Manager Centres, Julie Gorman, said literally hundreds of dollars’ worth of stationery and related products has been donated. The items will be distributed equally among the 16 PCYC locations from Albany to Broome.
“Young people attending safeSPACE, PCYC’s after-school program, will benefit greatly from these items,” she said. “safeSPACE is our core diversionary program for vulnerable or at-risk young people. It provides them with the opportunity to feel at home, make friends and take part in fun activities.”
Activities at safeSPACE range from basketball to skating, bike riding, arts and crafts, cooking, and help with homework, as well as the chance to hang out with friends in a safe, supportive environment.
RWA A/Commander Greg Crofts appreciates the impact PCYC programs have on young people and understands how beneficial this partnership with TYPO will be in furthering the work already being done across the State.
“We know there are children who attend the centres hungry and are provided with healthy snacks and meals, and in many cases are offered transport to and from sessions. To supplement this existing level of commitment and care with stationery items, clothing and other items all helps to make a difference.”

They were joined by Collie Centre Manager Linda Gallagher and Youth Policing Officer Senior Constable Kahn Le Prevost-Sheperd. Even PCYC pooches Coco and Panda pitched in…
