Kalgoorlie Night fever

Kalgoorlie’s Family and Youth disco had a remarkable turnout this month, with 55 children choosing to attend along with some younger siblings and parents.

It was great to see all ages being catered for so that the whole family could be involved, with children aged 4 all the way up to 17 enjoying the event. These discos are a great way to keep the little ones entertained while giving older children and young people something to do at night.

Youth Police Officers Xavier Lucas and Grant George from the Goldfields-Esperance District kindly volunteered their time to host the disco, creating a fun environment for children to interact with members of the police force. The children have a great bond with the local police and this was another great opportunity for them to see Police Officers in a positive light, playing ping pong, air hockey and foosball together.

The feedback from parents was outstanding, with many asking for more discos to be held as it gives children and young people something fun to look forward to.

As a result, Kalgoorlie PCYC is now planning to make discos a regular event over the school holidays.
