The Federation of Western Australian Police and Community Youth Centres (Inc.) (WA PCYC) is calling for a dedicated and passionate professional to take up the exciting and challenging new role of Finance Manager on a full-time basis, based at Subiaco.

We are currently seeking an experienced and successful finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking for a challenge. Reporting to the Executive Manager, Finance & Business Services (EM, F&BS) the Finance Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the Finance Department and will assist the EM,F&BS with the financial, resource and business management of WA PCYC in accordance with organisational policies, legislative requirements and within budgetary constraints.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within WA PCYC, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions;
Manage the finance team to deliver accurate and realistic cash flow reporting and management, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, budgets and reporting. Ensure continuous improvement and business education in relation to our financial processes and systems to deliver visibility of financial performance and line management ownership of their budgets;
Oversee the review of transaction journals on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of processing;
Review regular end of month tasks including bank reconciliations, and reconciling end of month figures;
Prepare the Fringe Benefits Tax Return and liaise with external accountants for lodgement;
Review and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) on a regular basis;
Ensure WA PCYC’s Superannuation Guarantee Charge obligations are being met;
Complete audit preparation and provide information to external auditors for the annual audit;
Review the fixed asset register, depreciation and amortisation;
Prepare Special Purpose Financial Statements and grant acquittals as required and for annual audit, and liaise with external auditors;
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings;
Skills and Experience:
CA/CPA or equivalent qualifications.
Proven experience operating in a commercial role, where experience in continuous improvement would be highly regarded.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative management style and the ability to forge highly productive internal and external working relationships.
Exceptional financial acumen, with the ability to interpret and advise non-finance personnel to achieve performance within budget.
Personable and professional, with a strong capability to remain objective, unbiased and balanced in challenging environments.
In-depth knowledge of financial, taxation, payroll, commercial and corporations’ legislation.
Ability to contribute to the organisation’s vision and strategic direction and how this impacts the organisation.
