If you’re looking to get your foot in the door towards a leadership role and ready to make a difference in the lives of young people in WA, our Head Office in Subiaco is looking for a Practice Lead to join our Youth Services team on a full-time basis!

The Youth Practice Lead is a member of the Youth Services team, who provides practice support to youth services staff and volunteers under the guidance of the Manager, Youth Services. The Youth Practice Lead is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of a wide range of innovative and engaging programs and activities that align with the PCYC strategic directions and contractual requirements. The role would also involve travelling to some of beautiful regional locations including Kununurra, Broome and more!

This role is responsible for:


  • Providing team leadership, development support and coordination of consistent service delivery across the youth services portfolio;
  • Building capacity across the PCYC youth services portfolio to facilitate best practice support and outcomes for young people.
  • Providing practice guidance and support to youth staff working with young people, in line with best practice, across PCYC WA locations.
  • Ensuring that programs incorporate the principles of culturally and trauma aware practice
  • Coordination and provision of training
  • Implementing continuous improvement strategies and outcomes measurement developing safe and effective workplace practice

About you:
  • A qualification in Youth/Community work or related area such as social work, psychology, behavioral science and/or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to integrate principles of research and governance in youth services utilising best practice
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing and evaluating youth programs
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, knowledge and skills
  • Specialised knowledge and experience of utilising strenghts-based, person-centered, trauma-aware, solutions-focused approaches
  • Well developed knowledge of social, cultural and economic issues affecting young people
  • Current knowledge and application of the relevant legislation, regulations and standards relating to youth services.
  • Ability to practice to the standards of WA Youth Work Code of Ethics
  • Ability to work in partnership with other agencies
  • Posses high level written and interpersonal skills and competent in using Microsoft packages and other computer programs.
