Collie PCYC hosts a wide range of recreational activities.
Collie PCYC safeSPACE program provides a safe place for local youth to participate in activities such as cooking, arts and crafts, sports and excursions. The program runs Monday and Wednesday nights from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm, and Friday nights from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Safe Sanctuary is funded by the Department for Child Protection and Family Support who assist in providing engagement activities, a hang out area and a meal for youth on Friday nights.
Police Rangers is an adventure based, youth development program which, in partnership with Cadets WA, facilitates the commitment of WA Police to form positive relationships with young people. Open to youth of high school age, the program increases youth self-confidence, leadership, team building skills and self-esteem. Police Rangers learn new skills, such as first aid, and gain experience by participating in activities and excursions. Contact us for more information
Drive to the Future is a driver training program that delivers motor vehicle driving theory test to youth at risk and low-socioeconomic families, providing an opportunity for participants to gain their motor vehicle licence. The program is partly funded by Premier Coal and donations from the Collie community, and is delivered by a qualified driving instructor. The vehicle was provided by Station Motors Holden Collie at a reduced cost.
Collie PCYC provides full School Holiday Program. The program is supported by WA Police, the Department of Child Protection and Family Services(CPFS)and local stake holders. Targeted at youth aged 10 – 18 years, activities include arts and crafts, cooking, games, incursions and excursions. The holiday program is delivered every week day between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, as well as Friday nights until 8:00 pm. Bookings essential for excursions as only limited seats on the bus.
