Kununurra is delivering outreach programs/activities in preparation for the establishment of a Centre. Currently delivering a broad range of youth and community activities that are culturally appropriate in supporting the children and young people of Kununurra.
These activities provide opportunities for the Western Australia Police Force Youth Policing Officers (YPO’s) to focus on building rapport and empowering young people to be the best that they can be in reaching their potential.
The Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley has assisted PCYC Kununurra with availability of their community facilities.
Skate park nights in Kununurra are Tuesdays include bouncy castle, scooters, basketball, slip and slide fun, ninja fun games etc… which is supported by Western Australia Police Force YPO’s.
Friday nights are spent at Kununurra Leisure Centre with activities like Discos, Pool Parties, Basketball, Volleyball, Indoor Soccer and games nights.
Wyndham visits are Wednesday afternoon/evenings include the same activities as above however with the following partners Wyndham Youth Aboriginal Cooperation, Wyndham Early Learning Activity Centre, Camping on Country, SWEK and the Western Australia Police Force..
