Rockingham PCYC hosts a wide range of recreational activities.
Weld to Life is a welding intervention, referral base program, funded and delivered by the South Metropolitan TAFE, and supported by the WA Police Force, for young people who are disengaged from mainstream education. The program targets young people involved with the juvenile justice system, or at risk youth. Participants complete the course with Certificate I in Engineering and Certificate I in Wider Opportunities for Work.
Breakfast Club, funded by WA Police Force Community Crime Prevention Fund, provides disengaged primary school children with a healthy breakfast before school, and school drop off. Delivered by Youth Workers, the program provides homework support, mentorship, sport and recreation, food and school drop-off in an effort to increase school attendance and reduce community disturbance. Breakfast Club operates Monday and Friday mornings during the school term.
Police Rangers is an adventure based, youth development program which, in partnership with Cadets WA, facilitates the commitment of WA Police Force to form positive relationships with young people. Open to youth of high school age, the program increases youth self-confidence, leadership, team building skills and self-esteem. Police Rangers learn new skills, such as first aid, and gain experience by participating in activities and excursions.
