Roebourne — Safe Space

Roebourne PCYC Safe Space program, funded by Regional Development Australia and The Pilbara Communities for Children, is targeted at abused and neglected children who rarely go to school and who are shamed into feeling uneducated. This alternative and unusual program looks at youth and the community, and addresses issues in a fun and safe way.

The program aims to provide a safe place for young people to engage in activities, away from domestic violence and sexual abuse. The program offers informational sessions and small group activities with participants to build confidence and encourage them to go to school. The program also offers sport and recreational activities that provide a physical outlet for participants.
