Covid-19 update

Published: November 30, 2021 3:09pm

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the health and safety of our employees, volunteers, participants and community that visit our Centres has been of the utmost importance.

Recently, the Western Australian Chief Health Officer (CHO) announced that workers in the Community Care Services industry are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. These directions apply to all PCYC employees and volunteers of PCYC. As a result, any employee or volunteer at PCYC will be required to have received their first vaccination from 1st December 2021 and received their full vaccination by 1st January 2022.

PCYC takes its right and responsibility to protect all employees and volunteers, as well as those we work with, seriously, and we will not be compromised in our efforts to maintain a safe working environment at all PCYC locations and activities.

As well as looking after our employees and volunteers, we also have to consider the health and safety of the vulnerable children and young people that we engage with on a daily basis, many of whom cannot be vaccinated against COVID-19.

According to West Australian law, children, young people and visitors to our Centres are not required to be vaccinated.

We hope there will be minimal interruption to our programs and activities across WA but will provide further updates if this directive affects our service delivery.
