Collie PCYC hosted the official launch of Gymnastics Australia National FreeG Kids program on 30 May, with the Minister for Sport & Recreation, the Hon. Mick Murray MLA making a special visit to support the launch. FreeG is a new national grassroots program developed by Gymnastics Australia combining elements of gymnastics, obstacle training and freestyle movement. The new program caters specifically to children aged between 3 and 11 years old. This non-traditional program provides gymnastics clubs and schools across Western Australia with a new and innovative way to keep young children active and engaged. During the launch, young people from Collie PCYC showcased their awesome skills through a creative obstacle course for the large audience of guests and families making good use of the new equipment recently acquired through a WA Police Crime Prevention Fund Grant. Collie PCYC Centre Manager Linda Gallagher commented that the event was a huge success and an “awesome opportunity to showcase our amazing StreetGym athletes” “Our kids did an amazing job, we are so very proud of each and every one of them, they are all champions” “Thank you Gymnastics Australia for choosing Collie to launch your program.” For more information about the program, contact Collie PCYC on (08) 9734 5767 or email
