The West Kimberley Football League Grand Final was held in Broome last month. This year, Broome PCYC along with Broome Police, Men’s Outreach, Headspace and a number of other community organizations worked together to create a family friendly environment to build and strengthen local community relationships with local service providers. Face painting, Fire Trucks and the Australian Army Truck were only some of the activities set up on the day for the kids to do. Broome PCYC coordinated the ‘Dash for Cash’ 100m sprints which were held during the half game breaks. These races were very popular and had great turn out, with lots of adults and kids participating and taking home cash prizes! Broome PCYC received a lot of interest and attention from local kids about activities and visiting the centre. They also spoke and received a fantastic response from various community members about future activities they would like to see happen the centre. Local Police also engaged with the crowd and received a lot of positive feedback from the community. Well done to all who participated and helped out at the event. Broome PCYC looks forward to being involved again at the 2018 WKFL Grand Finals.
