Roebourne PCYC helps make reading fun with new Fridge Library

Published: October 15, 2017 12:00am
The new Fridge Library at Roebourne PCYC founded by the Barrow Family, is open to the public with rows full of colourful children’s books! The fridge library was made possible with a donated Aggreko glass-fronted fridge from Karratha depot, who also fitted out the street library fridge for free. Local youth have been very receptive to the library with Roebourne PCYC planning a series of fun literacy programs around it. As the Pilbara’s first library of its kind, it has been quickly embraced by local youth and the community. Anyone can read, borrow, lend, take or donate a book. Support has come far and wide with Goodstart Early Learning Dunsborough also donating a massive box of books for the new library. If any community members have any unwanted books they would like to donate to the Fridge Library, or for more information about the about centre programs and activities, please contact Roebourne PCYC on 9182 1784 or email
