Kensington PCYC hosts a wide range of recreational activities.
safeSPACE, funded by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science as part of the Safer Communities Fund, provides a safe place for young people and young people at risk aged 11-17 years, to hang-out and participate in a range of recreational activities and development programs, as an alternative to participating in antisocial behaviour. Sessions run on Thursday & Friday 3:00pm – 7:00pm. The program is supported by a number of local community groups including the WA Police Force.
The Goals 4 Life Automotive program offers young people and young people at risk the opportunity to complete a Certificate I in Automotive Vocational Preparation (AUR10116). This is an introductory qualification to the automotive retail, service and repair industries and an entry to further training in several sectors. This is a follow-on qualification that provides skills in automotive retail, service and repair training. Drive to the Future, an Australian Government initiative to deliver safer communities through local crime prevention strategies, provides young people and young people at risk, the opportunity to gain their learners permit and obtain a drivers licence. The program aims to help young people increase their self-esteem, sense of responsibility, employ-ability, mental health and well-being and is delivered in partnership with WA Police Force and community organisations.
