Message from our Blue Light Coordinator
We are excited to introduce our quarterly PCYC Blue Light™ newsletter. We hope these newsletters provide you with useful updates on Blue Light™ and that the stories of areas doing amazing work will be of interest and might prompt ideas for your own community.
We have enjoyed re-connecting with you and supporting you over the past 6 months. As a result of our improved communication, we have seen units and participation numbers grow to record numbers. With some Blue Light™ areas extending to surrounding communities, we now have reach within 53 regional areas, which is an amazing achievement.
It has been great to see Blue Light™ areas extend beyond discos, and amazing to see the results of some Blue Light™ fundraising events. Blue Light™ Merredin hosted an awesome community fundraiser which consisted of a Quiz Night and raised a massive $3,730. As you would all appreciate this is a massive achievement and no doubt the funds will come in handy for their future Blue Light™ events. If your area would like to engage in fundraising for your Blue Light™ area, please do not hesitate to contact me for some guidance and support.
As you know, we are still in the process of updating Blue Light™ procedures, including the Operational Manual. We would like to thank all the units that send through Notification and Report forms, this information not only provides you with insurance for events but also allows us to continue to support and grow Blue Light™ across WA.
It has been a busy and proactive first few months in this role and has been an absolute pleasure getting to know you all. I look forward to seeing Blue Light™ WA continue to grow and I thank you all for your support.
