A day at the circus for Bunbury PCYC

Published: February 24, 2021 10:55pm

Bunbury PCYC was a hive of activity with young people flocking to the Centre to get involved in a fun day at the circus.

Presenters Ben Colman and Stella Johnson captivated the attention of the young participants. In the circus classes, Ben, a solo circus entertainer with ten years’ experience, showed children how to create twisted balloon shapes. He also taught them how to juggle and wowed them a show of static tower acrobatics.

Stella is an experienced ballerina and a rhythmic gymnast coach who focuses on body alignment, strength and flexibility. Stella’s masterclass was also fully booked as she gave everyone who took part the benefit of her vast knowledge and experience.

And it wasn’t just the circus that children got to enjoy in the school holidays. Bunbury PCYC ran new FreeG and athlete masterclasses, basketball clinics, and ‘have a go’ Gymnastic classes which drew hundreds of participants.

Bunbury Centre Manager Justine Feather said: “It was fantastic to see the children enjoy so many brand-new activities and experiences.”
