Artists at work in Kalgoorlie
Published: August 31, 2020 12:00am
Internationally recognised artist Jason Dimer will be spending the rest of the year sharing his artistic skills with Kalgoorlie PCYC kids, as part of their safeSPACE program.
Artist Jason is a Wongutha, Ngadju and Mirning man who specialises in narrative and figurative contemporary dot paintings. He was taught by his father, Neil Dimer, who was an important leader and artist from the Goldfields region, and his extended family. His work reflects cultural ties to the land and stories of his family’s journey and features images and themes of bush tucker, hunting and gathering, dancing, celebration and the Dreamtime.
Jason will help the kids develop their skills and hopefully make some great pieces for the centre to display!
