Published: November 25, 2021 12:30pm

Collie PCYC kids were filled with pride as they travelled to Perth to attend the awards ceremony for the 2021 Youth Choices Film Awards after being announced as a Top 10 Finalist.

Young people attending Collie PCYC’s safeSPACE™ Program filmed, produced, and edited a short film raising awareness about bullying, called ‘Closing the Case’.

The film was entered into the 2021 Youth Choices Film Awards, a competition run by the WA Police Force and Constable Care Child Safety Foundation, sponsored by the Commissioner for Children and Young People and Lions WA.

The competition challenges WA high school students to share their views and experiences on issues that matter to them, by creating a short three-minute film.

Collie PCYC Centre Manager, Linda Gallagher said, “We’re so proud of our Collie kids for challenging themselves to bring light to an issue that so many children can relate to.”

“With hundreds of high-quality entries from across the state, it is an incredible achievement for them to have made it into the top 10 Finalists”, said Linda.
