Collie PCYC Ninja Warriors qualify for World Championships
We couldn’t be more proud of our Collie participants for qualifying for the 21-22 National Ninja League Worlds in the USA.
At the beginning of 2021, Layla and Lizzie started attending Collie PCYC. Having never heard of the Street Ninjas Program they were unaware of the talent they were about to unlock.
Layla and Lizzie participated in the Ninja Challenge League Youth Qualifier and Youth Finals in 2021, working hard during training to achieve as many new skills as possible.
Despite being nervous to compete in qualifiers, the girls were more than prepared after working together as a team to create courses and safety check them.
After exceeding expectations at the Youth Finals, Layla and Lizzie were overjoyed when they were told they had qualified for the world championships in the USA.
Due to COVID-19 and Western Australia’s travel restrictions, Layla and Lizzie will not be able to travel to the USA to compete but with their hard work and passion they are determined to qualify again next year.
Layla and Lizzie have become great models for other PCYC participants and young people in their community, encouraging and assisting others to work hard to achieve their goals.
Collie PCYC Centre Manager, Linda Gallagher said, “Since attending PCYC, Layla and Lizzie have developed a love and passion for a sport that provides them with opportunities to learn and grow while staying fit and active.”
“PCYC’s programs and activities provide children and young people with the chance to be challenged, educated and engaged and this is a perfect example of the outcomes that children can achieve when they join PCYC.”
Thanks to the Western Australia Police Force Community Crime Prevention Fund for making this possible.
