Easter fun across the State for PCYC kids

Published: April 20, 2021 2:36pm

PCYC centres across the State were filled with Easter festivities this month. Here are just some of the ways we spread the Easter cheer.

The Easter Bunny visited Collie PCYC:

The Easter bunny (aka Acting Officer in Charge Senior Sergeant Jeramy Davies and Aboriginal Police Cadet Seth Clarke) teamed up with Collie PCYC to hand out Easter eggs to children and young people in their local community.

Kids hunting for eggs at Kununurra PCYC:

With the help of Youth Policing Officer, Senior Constable Sarah Norman and in partnership with Save the Children, Kununurra PCYC provided an afternoon of Easter fun.

Over 200 Easter eggs were donated by Kuynunurra Waringarri Aboriginal Corporation which resulted in an epic Easter egg hunt.

But hunting for eggs wasn’t all they got up to, there were running races, games of Simon says, piggyback races and basketball competitions.

Local photographer, Tim Lanzon, even volunteered his time to capture these moments of excitement.

Donated Easter eggs put to good use at Roebourne PCYC:

Close to 50 children and young people joined in an Easter egg hunt at Roebourne PCYC this month, thanks to a donation of yummy Easter eggs from Fortescue Metals Group.

Within seconds of children arriving, the centre became a hive of activity and excitement, with kids of all ages racing around to collect as many eggs as they could find.

Centre manager, Natasha Walker, said, “Every time they found an egg they would yell out to us, it was so rewarding to hear the joy in their voices. A big thank you to FMG for making this possible.”

“The Easter hunt was such a hit, we are already thinking about new hiding spots for next year!”
