Kununurra PCYC received a generous donation from Fair Game Sports Equipment Inc. of pre-loved sports equipment and runners to give to children in the local community.

Jane Cartwright, Kununurra Centre Manager, said she was delighted to be able provide children and young people in the community with equipment to play lots of different sports from cricket to basketball, netball and tennis.

Sport and recreational activities play a huge role in improving the physical and mental wellbeing of young people.

Jane said, “It’s more than just a bunch of equipment for our kids, it’s the opportunity for them to try new sports that they may not have had the opportunity to otherwise. Watching their faces when they put on the runners was priceless”.

Kununurra PCYC works closely with a number of community organisations to provide recreational and personal development opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people at risk in Kununurra and the West Kimberley. PCYC currently run weekly football, skatepark nights in Kununurra and a multi-sports night once a week in Wyndham.

Fair Game Sports Equipment Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation that was developed by a group of passionate volunteers who collect recycled sports equipment from individuals, schools and recreation centres and donate them to those in need.
