Magical Things Happened at the Careers and Employment Expo

It was another successful year at the Perth Career and Employment Expo as students, teachers and jobseekers were drawn to PCYC’s magical stall with its twinkling fairy lights and fun activities, including chatterbox making and a beanbag toss.

The theme of the stall was ‘Magical Things Happen at PCYC’ – because magical things happen when we transform the lives of children and young people and for the people that work at PCYC.

Magical things happen when young people make meaningful connections with Youth Workers or when children try a sport they wouldn’t have the opportunity to otherwise. And when students feel safe enough to seek a second chance at getting an education.

For people that work at PCYC, they experience that too. They experience making magic happen every day at work and get to go home at night knowing they’ve turned a young life around.

We enjoyed having great conversations about careers at PCYC and providing information about the courses available through our registered training organisation, the PCYC Institute of Training.

The bean bag toss was a hit with the high school students who lined up for a chance to win one of our magic-themed tote bags. Students even came back to the stall if they didn’t win the first time, hoping to win a tote bag the second time around.

Overall, the event was a huge success, leaving a lasting impression on many of the 12,000 people who visited the Expo.
