State Government invest $3M into Midland PCYC
On 17th December, the Minister for Police and Road Safety, Hon. Michelle Roberts MLA, announced $2.95m funding for the redevelopment of Midland PCYC.
This funding will enable the delivery of more programs and activities for disadvantaged children and young people at risk in the Midland area and beyond into Ellenbrook and Forrestfield. The redevelopment will include the construction of a new multipurpose hall, a large drop-in space, music studio and other multi-use spaces. The funding will also provide for a new bus and garage.
Hon. Michelle Roberts said the funding would enable Midland PCYC to be an established Centre supporting the young people in the region into the future.
“Every PCYC has the opportunity to have a really positive impact on so many young people’s lives”, said Ms Roberts.
PCYC President Geoffrey Stooke OAM thanked the State Government for their ongoing support.
“Without outstanding support from the Minister for Police and State Government, PCYC wouldn’t be able to meet its objective of empowering children and young people to reach their potential,” he said.
