It was a sea of blue and gold as trophies and medals were awarded to PCYC gymnasts from Bunbury, Collie, Fremantle, Gosnells, Kalgoorlie, Kensington, Rockingham and Subiaco.

More than 266 PCYC gymnasts aged six upwards competed at the Gymnastics State Championships hosted at Fremantle PCYC after meeting the qualifying score at the PCYC Regional Championships.

Girls' events included the vault, bar, beam and floor whilst the 27 boys competed on six apparatus – vault, high bar, parallel bars, pommel, rings and floor.

The gymnasts had been training for months in the lead up to the competition, fine tuning their skills and perfecting their routines.

Being the first time in over a year that coaches, volunteers, and gymnasts across the State were able to come together, the cheering, camaraderie and support was at an all-time high.

Gymnasts from all eight clubs performed exceptionally well over the weekend-long competition, with 32 first place trophies being awarded.

As one of the largest Gymnastics Clubs in WA we love coming together to inspire and support each other in our very own state competition. It is one of the many reasons why being a PCYC gymnast is so special!
