WA PCYC was proud to run a free two-day Protective Behaviours workshop at Roebourne PCYC that was funded by Regional Development Australia (RDA) Pilbara through the West Pilbara Communities for Children Initiative.

This workshop was delivered by WA Child Protection Society and was attended by participants from organisations that work within child and youth sectors.

The comprehensive two-day training workshop delivered by The WA Child Protection Society provided participants with a range of safety practices that assist in creating child safe environments and keeping young people and children safe.

The workshop also provided recommendations on how participants should respond to child abuse disclosures and provided information on the legal requirements and correct reporting procedures for child abuse victims.

Roebourne PCYC, Acting Centre Manager Sho-ella Smith, said “Roebourne PCYC is proud to bring such an important training programme to the community, especially one that has been designed to equip people with the knowledge and tools to keep our young people safe”.
