Bringing Blue Light™ back to Perth

Published: June 29, 2022 11:07am

Over 200 children and parents lined up in anticipation for the first Metro Blue Light™ disco in years!

The return of Metro Blue Light™ events was prompted after success across PCYC’s 50 remote and regional Blue Light™ Units, as well as a community demand for low cost activities that keep young people safe, supervised and entertained in the evening.

Local Youth Police Officers Rob and Husky were the highlight of the night at Fremantle PCYC, helping to prepare food at the canteen and engaging with children and young people as they showed off their moves on the dance floor.

PCYC Blue Light™ Co-ordinator, Jema Ritchie said, “The disco wouldn’t have been the success it was without the support of The Western Australia Police Force, the Fremantle and Hilton Community and all the amazing sponsors and donors.”

“A huge thank you to all PCYC staff and volunteers who helped on the night and a special shoutout to Tom Fisher, who volunteered his time to keep the tunes playing and dance moves flowing all night long.”
