A family first
A major milestone was reached by Twaneika in Broome who can proudly claim to be the first among her siblings to get her driver’s licence.
“Thank you so much, this means I’m the first out of all my siblings to get my license. I even beat my mum!” she said.
Through PCYC’s Drive to the Future program, Twaneika received support with all the components required to get a license such as obtaining identity documents, learning the theory, undertaking driving lessons and doing the test.
Getting a drivers licence not only improves road and community safety but increases young people’s self-esteem, employability, and therefore general well-being and mental health.
We’re told Twaneika was “committed” to the goal of getting her licence and we love that her commitment has paid off!
