Gosnells PCYC students give back to the community

The Haven provides meals, hot showers and basic needs to homeless people in Victoria Park. Throughout their 13-week course, Gosnells PCYC students assisted preparing and serving meals and other emergency relief support.

The Leadership I accredited training course is provided to young people in the justice system and those that are disengaged from mainstream education. The course aims to increase youth engagement, create positive behavioural change and provide young people with a pathway into further education or employment.

Gosnells PCYC Trainer Marilyn Chircop said the difference in students before and after the course is incredible. “The students are so motivated and have so much potential. They learn critical life skills, make friendships and gain employability skills that will enable them to stay on the right path and progress to further education, training and employment.”
