To recognise the great outcomes PCYC has achieved and the difference we make across the state, the Commissioner of Police, Chris Dawson APM, awarded a Medal for Excellence to PCYC Chairperson, Geoff Stooke, at the Joondalup Police Academy Graduation ceremony.

With only six medals issued each year, the Western Australia Police Commissioner's Medal for Excellence recognises Western Australians who have consistently contributed to the achievement of the goals and objectives of the Western Australia Police.

2021 marked 80 years of PCYC’s partnership with the Western Australia Police Force to support children and young people across WA.

PCYC Chairperson, Geoff Stooke, said, “The Police and Community Youth Centres is a successful model for what we set out to achieve 80 years ago and our purpose remains true today. I am committed to delivering lasting change for children and young people and look forward to another year of positive outcomes.”
