PCYC Gymnasts earn a place at Regional Championships

Published: July 29, 2021 12:55pm

Nerves were at an all-time high, knowing that if they performed well in this competition, the girls were in with a chance to be nominated for a spot on the Gymnastics WA Country Team competing in Darwin in August.

Thirty-four PCYC gymnasts participated to the WA Regional Championships at the State Gymnastics Centre in Leederville. They were up against teams from Denmark, Busselton, Karratha, Geraldton, and many in between.

For Bunbury PCYC this was the first time taking part in the Gym WA State Levels, and for some of the gymnasts, it was their very first gymnastics competition.

The nerves were quickly conquered as the gymnasts showed off their skills in front of panels of judges, cheering their teammates along the way. Multiple medals and ribbons were earned, with three of our PCYC gymnasts being selected for the Country Team, as well as one reserve and their coach Sian Szolkowski.
