Shooting hoops at Broome PCYC

Published: March 10, 2020 12:00am

Over 120 young basketballers aged 9-17 participated in 3x3 basketball development sessions, drills and games at Broome PCYC.

Sessions were tailored to suit all levels of ability, and officiated by the local basketball team players and coaches.

Centre Manager Annie Dann said it was great to see young people of all ages come to the centre to participate in a sport that they wouldn’t normally have access to.

“Growing up, there were only a few places in Broome where we could play a game of basketball in the community, but a program like this that is shorter and faster, and with a focus on fun is a great way for our young people to stay active,” said Annie.

The event was supported by the Kimberley Development Commission, Western Australian Police Force and the Broome Basketball Association.
