Hard work pays off at Graduation Day

Published: October 25, 2022 12:20pm

There were two graduation celebrations at PCYC to celebrate this month – congratulations to all our graduates!

Bunbury Certificate I in Leadership

It was all smiles and lots of pride for our Bunbury PCYC students who completed their Certificate I in Leadership this month. They worked incredibly hard over the 12-week course, learning how to write a resume, conduct health & safety checks, create a budget and assign tasks for a community project. They also graduated with new personal skills including how to debate and understand other points of view, plus asking for and offering help.

It was a privilege to have Federal Member for Forrest, Nola Marino and David Van Ooran, PCYC CEO attend, as well as State Member for Bunbury, Don Punch who presented the certificates. Katie Penches, Centre Manager said, “We are so impressed with all of our students’ achievements, it's so great to see hard work pay off.”

Rockingham Certificate I in Leadership

The graduates from the Certificate I Leadership course had some inspiring experiences to report on from the last few weeks. They competed in The Amazing Race around Rockingham, attended countless excursions, volunteered hours and completed a community project making protein balls to donate to the CREW Soup Kitchen!

Claire Gregory, Rockingham Centre Manager highlighted at the ceremony “It has been incredible to watch you all grow as future leaders of our community”.
