Stepping towards brighter futures

PCYC’s young people have made us proud this month, securing employment or progressing to further education after completing our Stepping Stones Program.

PCYC’s Stepping Stones Program aims to improve young people’s academic skills so they can undertake further training or education and enhance employment opportunities.

Throughout the course, students see their self-confidence increase as they learn about basic life skills and address any barriers they might have to learning to ensure long-term success.

19 students at Northam PCYC received their certificate of attendance after completing the Stepping Stones Program. Students from PCYC’s Aboriginal School Based Training (ASBT), also attended the graduation, with three students gaining their Certificate I in Leadership.

Since completing the Stepping Stones Program, seven young people have now secured their first jobs, with another four students gaining their learners permits.

At Midland PCYC, 8 students graduated from the Stepping Stones Program, with four students enrolling into further training and education. Having developed their job readiness skills, the other students are applying to secure employment.

Congratulations to each of these young people, who now have employability skills that will help them to reach their potential and stay on a positive life path.
