Staff, family and community members all came together to celebrate the achievements of students who participated in the Gosnells PCYC Stepping Stones program for 2017, with students receiving a certificate for their participation and hard work. Gosnells Project Stepping Stones is a joint venture between Gosnells PCYC, Centacare Employment and Training and the Western Australian Department of Education. The program aims to re-engage young people in Year 11 and 12 who have a history of severe disengagement from mainstream education, and provide pathways to further education, training and employment. The program was highly successful in 2017, with a few of the students already securing opportunities for employment. WA PCYC CEO Jock Gillespie, WA PCYC President Dr Sue Gordon AM, and Board Member Paul Ferguson attended the graduation. Attendees also included members from the Department of Education (WA), WA Police Force, and other Community Services members along with many others.
